The Republican candidate for the White House, Donald Trumpsaid this Wednesday that both Kamala Harrisas the governor of Minnesota, Tim Walzhis Democratic ticket for the November elections, are communists, and he suggested that he will soon debate the current vice president despite having said otherwise.
In an interview with Fox Newsthe former Republican president (2017-2021) said that the Democratic formula shares the senator’s ideas Bernie Sanders, one of the most progressive in the US Congress.
“I couldn’t be more excited” that Harris made that “shocking choice,” he said.
He added that Walz is quite liberal and “probably” more so than Sanders.
“This candidate wants this country to become communist immediately, if not sooner. We don’t want security. We don’t want anything. He is very pro-transgender.”said.
The former president warned that Walz is more radical than Harris on issues such as immigration and crime.
Trump also suggested that he would soon debate her, despite having recently said on social media that he would withdraw from the scheduled debate on ABC News and would suggest doing one on the conservative Fox News channel instead.
“I would love to see it on Fox, but, you know, it takes two to tango.”the Republican added.
“I don’t know how she debates. I heard she’s a bit of an unpleasant person (…), but she’s not a good debater, but we’ll see, because we’ll debate her, I guess, in the very near future. It will be announced fairly soon.”he added.
Harris had agreed to participate in the ABC News debate and criticized Trump for canceling it last week.
Harris and Walz, gave this Tuesday in Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) the starting gun for his campaign for the November elections.
Trump said Harris rejected Pennsylvania Governor, Josh Shapiroanother of his vice-presidential candidates, because he is Jewish.
The vice president opted for Walz, 60, who had become a favorite of progressives, dismissing Shapiro, a practicing Jew whose comments on Gaza had infuriated the pro-Palestinian wing of the party.
By choosing Walz, whom Republicans call a “radical leftist,” Harris is seeking to attract white voters from the country’s industrial belt, especially from Wisconsin, Michigan y Pennsylvania.
Trump, meanwhile, mentioned on Fox News a call Walz made to him during the pandemic when the Republican was president to ask for help because his house was surrounded by anti-lockdown protesters.
“They only had one guard, I guess he was at the mansion or at his house somehow,” Trump said.
Trump said the Democrat asked him to “spread the word that I’m a good person, and I did (…) and they all lowered their flags and took their flags with them.”
“But they took the American flags and their MAGA flags and left. There were thousands of people.”he continued. EFE (I)
