On Wednesday, November 6, as of 08:30 Israeli time, Donald Trump won 270 electoral votes, exactly half. His rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, who by this time had gained 226 votes, had no chance left.
All Israeli and world media reported about this. The counting of votes continues. The New York Times projects Trump’s final victory with 302 electoral votes to Harris’ 236.
Trump is currently flying to Florida to give his victory speech. Harris disappeared from the screens. Her campaign says the votes still need to be “carefully counted.” The situation at the polling stations is dramatic. Trump is leading in most swing states, with North Carolina and Georgia already declared his victory. Harris won in New York and California, which are considered traditional Democratic strongholds, but this was not enough.
In the final two hours, the decisive battle took place in three key states: Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan, but even there, according to The New York Times, Harris fell behind by a wide margin.
