The 45th president declined to answer questions from the press
45th President Donald Trump left the Manhattan courthouse after being indicted on 34 felony counts of forgery, Reuters reported. Trump quickly left the courtroom where the hearing took place and did not answer questions from reporters.

The former president spent about two hours at the courthouse, where he learned the details of the criminal charges he faces as he runs his third presidential campaign.
According to CNN, Trump is expected to head directly to New York’s LaGuardia Airport and fly to Florida, where his Mar a Lago mansion is located. He intends to make a statement from his mansion later this evening.
The next preliminary hearing in the case of the former US president is scheduled for December 4 this year, reports CNN. The trial is expected to begin in January 2024, AFP reports, citing a New York criminal court judge.
On March 30, a grand jury in a New York court handed down an indictment in the case alleging Donald Trump’s involvement in the misuse of 2016 presidential campaign funds.
Earlier today on April 4, the former president was taken into custody. During a court hearing in New York, he pleaded not guilty to all 34 charges. Donald Trump later walked out of court after the charges were filed, and his arrest was overturned. Donald Trump is expected to make an official statement upon his return to Florida.
The prosecutor’s office in Manhattan published the indictment in the case of the former president. He is charged with 34 counts of first-degree falsification of business documents with the purpose of concealing compromising information from voters and illegal activity before and after the 2016 presidential election.
