ORLANDO (Daily Newspapers): The huge conference hotel in Orlando is filled to the brim with Trump’s most ardent supporters. In recent days, several of the most famous politicians and thinkers in Republican circles have taken the stage. In the hallways, media from the far right have been stationed in a row. A huge trade fair area is filled with all sorts of Trump effects and equipment that signals a fierce anger against Democrats and President Joe Biden.
Saturday night local time, the biggest star comes north from the residence Mar-a-Lago in West Palm Beach.
– Would not have happened under Trump
– Trump is perfect as president. We need him so much right now, especially with everything that is happening in the world and Ukraine. He wanted to see this from a long distance and prevented the invasion from happening, says Clemeen Connolly to Dagbladet.
She is from North Carolina and goes by the nickname «Lady Liberty». Half the face is made up with the American flag. She smiles broadly when we start talking about Trump.

– We are many who push to get him to shut up again. I really hope he is elected in 2024 and makes America magnificent again, says Connolly.

Like many others in Orlando, she sincerely hopes he runs for office again. She also believes that no one can really challenge Trump as a presidential candidate if he runs.
– We need him more than anyone else. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis had become a fine vice presidential candidate, Connolly said.
Putin praises: – Fantastic
She describes the feeling of seeing him alive as something “completely magical”.
– He has an aura and energy around him that can not be described in words. There is so much strength, so much greatness there. We need you back, Trump, she says.

Trump takes the annual conference as a great hero. He has long flirted with the fact that he will run as a presidential candidate again in 2024. And he still claims that the election in 2020 was stolen from him, despite the fact that this has been refuted in a long series of rounds in the judiciary, in polls and investigations.
At the CPAC conference, “the big lie”, as the American media has dubbed Trump’s claim, is alive and well.
In the past week, Trump has also received massive attention for his statements about Ukraine and how Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, has behaved during the invasion.
Biden this week announced massive sanctions against Russia and President Vladimir Putin. At the same time, Trump has praised Putin for his strength and ingenuity.

– A warrior
“Everything happened because of a rigged election,” Trump told the famous Fox News profile Laura Ingraham in a telephone interview on Wednesday.
His logic is that Russia would not invade Ukraine if he himself remained president.
Inside the CPAC conference, however, most people talk about Putin as an evil despot who must be punished for the attack. Trump’s tribute to the Russian president is largely pushed under the rug.
– Conversations about cooperation
Charlie Adkins from Florida walks enthusiastically around among thousands of participants at the CPAC conference. The shirt is designed as the American flag.
– I like that Trump is a warrior. Many say this does not make him presidential, but these are not presidential times. I like that he fights for what he believes in. Many of his ideals are my ideals, says Adkins to Dagbladet.
He thinks Republicans used to be too passive.
– Who would you support in a primary election between Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis?
– They would be a difficult choice. I’m from Florida and really love Ron DeSantis. But I like the idea of Ron DeSantis as Trump’s vice presidential candidate. Then two presidential terms with DeSantis. That would provide many, many years of conservative leadership, says Adkins.

– Puts America first
Delaney and Reed Madden of Kansas are both big Trump fans.
– Right now it seems that there are many corrupt politicians in the elite who rule. When the establishment is against a guy like Trump, it makes me think that there is something we should cheer on. He did a lot of good in his previous term as president, Reed tells Dagbladet.
– He puts America first. Everything he has done has been good for the country. I hope he returns as president. Since he left the White House, the situation in this country has been a disaster, Delaney told Dagbladet.

– There are many reasons why I support Trump. He was able to communicate his mind to the establishment in 2016. Many were skeptical about whether he would actually rule as a conservative.
