It is an unparalleled election campaign in the USA. Trump is constantly attracting attention with insults against Harris. A recent sexist statement is attracting criticism.

Washington, DC – Donald Trump seems to focus almost exclusively on one issue with Vice President Kamala Harris: the fact that his opponent in the 2024 US election will most likely be a woman. Trump has caused a furore several times in the past because of his sexist behavior. His exclamation “Grab ’em by the pussy” caused quite a stir during the 2016 election campaign. The saying even made it onto the former president’s Wikipedia page – and for many people it is a symbol of what Trump thinks of women.

Now Trump has caused a stir with new statements. In an interview with the broadcaster Fox Newsthe presidential candidate said that if Harris wins in November, she will be “like a toy” for her opponents on the world political stage. “They look at her and say, ‘We can’t believe we got so lucky.’ They’ll just run over her.”

“Many will understand what I mean” – New sexism scandal surrounding Trump before US election

Trump did not want to go into detail about why he believes Harris has no chance against other heads of state. “I don’t want to say why. But many people will understand what I mean.” Only Trump knows exactly what is behind the ex-president’s cryptic statement. For many, however, it is clear: Trump’s statement is pure sexism.

“The way he suggests these things, in my opinion, invites people to read something into it,” said the senior political correspondent of the Wall Street Journal, Molly Ball, in an interview with the broadcaster CNNIn her opinion, citizens might believe that Trump is making his judgment “because she is a black woman.”

The pro-democratic Super PAC “American Bridge 21st Century” also commented on Trump’s verbal attack. Washington Post reported, the lobby group called the comment “very disgusting and strange.”

US election 2024: Sexism accusation against Trump – campaign spokeswoman rejects allegations

Trump’s campaign is predictably backtracking. Karoline Leavitt, a spokeswoman for the Republican’s campaign team, said that Trump had not attacked his opponent’s gender or migration background with his statement, the Washington Post“She is weak, dishonest and dangerously liberal and that is why people will reject her on November 5,” Leavitt said.

If Trump really did attack the political figure Harris with this comment, the question arises as to why he is making such a big secret out of what he means by the criticism. The former president is not exactly known for being reserved when it comes to directly attacking his political opponents. Most recently, he even called Harris a “bum.”

Trump shocks with racist statement about Harris’s origins – “Is she black?”

At the same time, Trump does not seem to be afraid to make Harris’s immigrant background an issue in the US election campaign. He recently caused a wave of criticism with a comment about her origins. At a panel discussion organized by an association of black journalists in Chicago, he addressed his opponent’s ancestry. “She was always of Indian descent and only advertised her Indian descent,” said Trump. Because, in his opinion, Harris now identifies as a black woman, Trump is faced with the question: “Is she Indian or is she black?”

In this case, criticism of Trump’s statement was not long in coming. “Since when is Donald Trump, with his long and ugly history of racism, the arbiter of blackness?” wrote the black US city council member in New York, Ritchie Torres, on X. The Democrat went on to call Trump a “relic of a racist past.”

Harris, whose father is from Kenya and mother from India, seems unsurprised by Trump’s statement. “It was the same old show,” Harris said at a campaign rally. “The division and the disrespect. And let me tell you this, the American people deserve better.”
