Donald Trump demonizes migrants and accuses them of “infecting” the country – Diario La Página –

Donald Trump promised this Friday that November 5 will be the “day of liberation” of an “occupied United States” by migrants brought to “infect” the country, at a rally in a city taken over, according to him, by the Venezuelan band Tren de Aragua.

In the final stretch of the race for the White House, the former Republican president combines a protectionist economic discourse and the demonization of migrants to galvanize his base, made up mainly of working-class whites.

His rival in the presidential elections on November 5, Kamala Harris, on the contrary, transmits a message of unity.

In a more extreme speech than usual, Trump gave free rein to his anti-immigrant rhetoric.

“The United States is known, around the world, as ‘occupied America,’ they call it ‘occupied.’ “We are being occupied by a criminal force,” he said in the town of Aurora, in the state of Colorado (west).

“I make this promise to you and I make a vow: November 5, 2024 will be Liberation Day in the United States,” he added.

He accused Harris of having “imported an army of illegal alien gang members and immigrant criminals from the dungeons of the third world” and “relocating” them to Aurora.

Supporters of the radical right claim that this town is terrorized by Latin American migrants since the release of a video in which armed Latinos are seen in a building, despite denials from the authorities.

Trump called the vice president a “criminal” and falsely claimed that Venezuelan gangs in Colorado were given permission to shoot at the police.

«Internal enemy»
There is, according to him, an “internal enemy”: “all the scum we have to deal with who hate our country,” in his words.

Trump promised that he will deport members of illegal gangs until there are none left and outlined some of the measures he will take if he wins.

“I will end catch and release,” he said, referring to the policy of releasing (pending an immigration trial) migrants who cross the border without authorization, rather than detaining them.

“I will restore (the program) ‘Stay in Mexico,'” introduced by him during his mandate so that migrants wait for the outcome of the migration process on the other side of the border.

“I will bring back title 42,” he said, about a health rule implemented during the pandemic that allowed practically all migrants to be blocked.

“They are very, very, very sick with highly contagious diseases and they are brought (…) to infect our country,” he said about the migrants, whom he has already accused of “poisoning” the United States and eating pets.

“I will send Congress a bill to ban all sanctuary cities,” which protect migrants from expulsion, “and we will begin the largest deportation operation in American history,” the magnate continued.

«We will close the border. “We will stop the invasion of illegals (…) we will defend our territory, we will not be conquered,” he concluded in a warmongering tone.
