“Donald Trump defends vulgar statements in civil trial for rape allegations”

New York (AP) – In a published interrogation video in connection with the civil trial against Donald Trump for rape, the former US President has defended earlier vulgar statements. It is about a survey published on Friday by Trump from October, which was conducted by plaintiff Jean Carroll’s lawyer, Roberta Kaplan.

When asked about a statement that a woman who accused him of sexual assault was not “his first choice,” Trump replied to Kaplan, “You wouldn’t be my choice either, to be honest. I hope you are not offended. I wouldn’t be interested in you at all.”

Carroll accuses Trump of raping her in a New York City department store in the mid-1990s. Trump, who was not yet a politician but a real estate entrepreneur, always rejected the allegations – once with the words that she was not his type. The criminal allegations are statute-barred, but under civil law Carroll was free to file a lawsuit. She demands compensation. The pleadings in the case are expected next week.

In the video that has now been released, Trump also describes Kaplan as “a political agent” and “a disgrace”. Regarding Carroll, he said he didn’t know her and knew nothing about “these crazy people”.

Trump was also approached by the attorney about a now-famous video, captured on the sidelines of a 2005 TV show, of him telling another man that as a celebrity, you could touch women’s genitals if you wanted to. Trump defended his words: “If you look at the last million years, that’s probably largely true, not always, but largely true. Unfortunately – or fortunately».
