For the first time since his defeat, Donald Trump held another election rally. But before leaving for Georgia, Trump is said to have pressured Republican Governor of Georgia Brian Kemp to convene state parliament to have Joe Biden’s victory revoked in the state. So says a senior government official in Georgia, and it is confirmed by a source at the White House.
‘If he knew what the hell he was doing’
Kemp, a Trump supporter, says he cannot do that because he is not authorized to do so. Trump came back to his supporters during the rally: “Your governor could easily stop it if he knew what the hell he was doing.”

Fear that voters will stay at home
Senate election in Georgia is of great importance. If the two seats go to the Democrats, both sides will have 50 seats in the Senate, but Vice President Kamala Harris will have the casting vote. So the Republicans are committed to keeping at least one of those two seats.
During the rally, Trump also called on his supporters to vote: “Let them steal Georgia again and you can no longer look at yourself in the mirror,” Trump said. But he also claimed victory again, saying he had won Georgia. And that’s not right; Georgia also went to Joe Biden after a recount, with a difference of 12,500 votes.
Some Republicans fear their Georgia voters will stay at home in January because they have no confidence that the election will be fair. Earlier this week, two pro-Trump lawyers called for people not to vote until “ all issues surrounding the presidential election ” have been resolved. The fact that Trump is now again challenging his electoral defeat at the rally, and particularly the one in Georgia, may do the Republican cause more harm than good.
