For several years, the two world leaders Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu had one of the strongest alliances in the world. That is no longer the case.
In an interview about an upcoming book, Trump repeatedly criticizes the former Israeli prime minister. It writes the author of the book, Barak Ravid, in the American media Axios.
– He was out very early. Earlier than most. I’ve not talked to him since. Fuck him, Trump said in an interview.

Feeling betrayed
The former US president is said to have stated this in two interviews in April and in July, in connection with the publication of Ravid’s book.
The book is about Trump’s role in the Middle East peace process.
In both interviews, Trump has stated that no one else has done as much for Netanyahu as he himself. Therefore, he considers it a betrayal that Netanyahu congratulated Biden on the election victory.
– I liked Bibi. I still like Bibi. But I also like loyalty. The first person to congratulate Biden was Bibi, says Trump, who mentions Netanyahu by his nickname.
– He was the man I did the most for, more than any other person I have had anything to do with, he adds.
– Appreciates Trump
A few hours after Trump first made the brutal statements, Netanyahu wrote a comment in which he emphasized that he “values Trump’s support for Israel highly”.
“I also appreciate the strong alliance between Israel and the United States, and it was therefore important for me to congratulate the incoming president,” Netanyahu explained. Times of Israel.
Although Trump claims that Netanyahu was the first world leader to congratulate Biden on his election victory, that is not true, according to Israeli media.
In November 2020 pointed out, among other things Times of Israel that the congratulations from the Israeli prime minister came more than 12 hours after the American media mentioned Biden as the next president – and several hours after other heads of state.
Netanyahu, who resigned as prime minister this summer, is accused of corruption.
– I saved Israel
During his time as president, Trump did not hide his support for both Netanyahu and Israel.
Among other things, he decided to move the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and thus recognized the city as the capital of Israel. This led to a massive anger in several Arab countries.
In a recent interview, Trump expressed his conviction that, by withdrawing from the nuclear deal with Iran, he saved Israel from total destruction.
– If it had not been for me, I think Israel would have been destroyed. Ok. Want to know what I’m actually thinking? I think that Israel might have been destroyed at this time, he says.
