THE United States President Donald Trump announced this Tuesday that he will block funding for the World Health Organization, considering that it has failed to manage the crisis caused by the pandemic in Covid-19.
The decision comes just hours after the American leader accused the organization of “being too focused on China”, even though it is “largely financed by the United States” in a publication left on the social network Twitter.
“We are going to put a block on the money sent to the World Health Organization. We are going to put a very strong block and we will see what will happen,” he said, in statements reproduced by the station television North-American CNN.
“It is a very good thing if it works. But, when they make all the wrong decisions, it is not positive,” added Donald Trump, who did not, however, when he will certainly apply this measure.
The United States, remember, is currently the country with the most confirmed cases of infection for the new coronavirus worldwide: 387,547, to which a total of 12,291 deaths must be added, according to the most recent data released by the Johns Hopkins Institute.
