Dominik Nepp re-elected as Vienna FPÖ chairman, vows to make Vienna “deportation capital”

At the 37th regular state party conference of the FPÖ Vienna, chairman Dominik Nepp stood for re-election on Saturday. During his speech at the Vienna Trade Fair, he not only criticized Mayor Michael Ludwig (SPÖ), but also left no doubt that he wants to become the next city boss.

VIENNA. With 396 of 398 votes, or 99.5 percent, Dominik Nepp was confirmed as state party chairman of the Vienna Freedom Party on Saturday. There were congratulations not only from the Viennese delegates, but also from federal party chairman Herbert Kickl, who was also present.

People marched into the state party conference at the Vienna Trade Fair with flags flying. In addition to speeches by party leader Kickl and Harald Vilimsky, the liberal top candidate for the EU elections, Nepp in particular took the opportunity to give a hearty speech.

“Vienna must become the deportation capital”

“It’s really 5 to 12,” Nepp warned in his speech. Mayor Ludwig (SPÖ) has led Vienna into the abyss and turned the federal capital into a “mecca for international asylum seeker crime”. A distinction must be made when it comes to immigrants. Those who come to Austria and make their contribution and integrate are welcome, according to Nepp.

“But those people who came here illegally, who become criminals, must be deported. Vienna must become the deportation capital,” said Nepp. He also criticized the handling of social benefits. As mayor, he would tie this to citizenship.

Criticism of inflation and healthcare

The blue state party leader also sharply criticized urban inflation. For example, the taxes for sewage and garbage have been increased due to the Valorization Act. The prices for the Vienna baths have also risen again. An average Viennese household now has to pay 3,500 euros more per year.

The federal capital’s health system was also addressed. “The consequences of the catastrophic conditions in Vienna’s community hospitals are mass layoffs of doctors and nursing staff, overcrowded wards and long waiting times for operations,” said Nepp.

This year’s state party conference is the first after all Corona measures have ended. With regard to the pandemic, Nepp spoke of the “biggest scandal of the Second Republic”. He calls for the disclosure of all protocols, including those of City Councilor for Health Peter Hacker, as well as clarification as to which people in the SPÖ environment may have benefited from the “syringe madness”.

“FPÖ only challenger to Ludwig”

Nepp also didn’t say anything good to ÖVP Vienna boss Karl Mahrer as well as to deputy mayor, education councilor and Neos Vienna boss Christoph Wiederkehr. While “the sparrows are already whistling from the rooftops” that Mahrer is about to be replaced, the pink state party is a “section without an opinion”.

Vienna needs a mayor who speaks a clear word of power and “stands up to protect the people of Vienna.” “I want to be that mayor for you,” said the re-elected Vienna FPÖ leader. The blue party suffered a setback in 2020 and is now loudly making its way back. “The FPÖ is Mayor Ludwig’s only challenger”.
