NEW YORK.- The third version of the “Dominican Taste Festival 2023”, directed by Elida Almonte, was recognized by the mayoress of San Juan de la Maguana, Hanoi Sánchez, last Thursday night during the “Gala-Dinner” held at the “Mamajuana” restaurant by the event be dedicated to that province.
Before the attendance of businessmen, politicians, professionals, community members, and representatives of the public and private sectors, Almonte put the band of the “Festival” to the municipal executive for being distinguished special and then delivered the recognition.
For his part, Sánchez, thanked the distinctions expressing “San Juan de la Maguana” is fashionable because we are the land of Caonabo, Anacaona, Enriquillo; We are the land of the Lemba, we are the mix of Afro-Americans and Spaniards”.

The mayoress added: “but now SJM is God’s land where everyone fits and there are many slogans that are not true, but the San Juan always has a good face,” she pointed out.
For his part, Almonte thanked the presence of personalities present who came from the Dominican Republic accompanying Sánchez. He highlighted the contributions of the mayoress that he has made in favor of her province, and at the same time being the liaison for the people of San Juan in NYC with her province; She is not an absent San Juan, she is present, ”said Almonte.
He also thanked the support of the Ministries of Tourism and Agriculture, the Consulate, Congressman Adriano Espaillat, and Mayor Eric Adams, among other elected and community leaders, said the president of the event.
Likewise, the Festival held this Friday the business table, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, at restaurant 809, located on Dyckman street, where the director of tourism in NY, Karina Ramos, presented the destination of the RD as a tourist attraction in the world, giving explanations to those present.
Various companies linked to the tourism sector participated, including “Coral Costa Caribe”, “Blanket”, “Palladium Hotel Group”, “Cana Rock, Punta Cana”, and “Xedliter -Green One Playa Dorada”, among others.
The “Dominican Taste Festival 2023” will take place this Saturday and tomorrow Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., in Plaza Quisqueya to La Marina with the Hudson River, exhibiting the diversity of Dominican culinary culture Almonte reported. Will be free.
It will open with the Los Toros Band orchestra and other renowned artists; likewise, with the Gastronomic pavilion directed by chef Amilkar Gonell, who holds the Guinness record.
One of the highlights of the Festival is the “pabellón de mujeres entrepreneurs”, which will offer a unique opportunity for Dominican women to show off their culinary skills and promote their businesses in the food industry.
