Dominican Republic Weather: Anticyclone to Dominate, Restricting Rainfall Until Saturday

Santo Domingo.- The high pressure system (anticyclone) will dominate the weather conditions at least until Saturday over the Dominican Republic, restricting the possibility of rain in much of the country.

However, the National Meteorological Office (Onamet) clarified that this Thursday there could be weak downpours in some areas, due to the wind coming from the southeast.

“Precipitation will be scarce until Saturday, due to the incidence of the high pressure system, which will reduce the formation of clouds over the Dominican territory,” Onamet predicted.

Meanwhile, the temperature will remain pleasant in a large part of the Dominican territory, mainly in the Central mountain range area.

An anticyclone is an atmospheric system that makes it difficult for clouds to form, thereby reducing the possibility of precipitation. It is the opposite of the low pressure system.
