“Dominican Association of Broadcasters Mourns Loss of Fernando Navarro in New York City”

NEW YORK.- The Dominican Association of Broadcasters (CDL) expressed its condolences for the death in New York City of Fernando Navarro, owner of the 89.3 FM Digital New York station.

Mireya Jass, president of the union, defined Navarro as “a professional microphone to the point and highlighted his career, merits and contributions to radio broadcasting in the Dominican Republic and the United States.

Navarro began working on the radio in the city of Azua, his hometown, in the 1970s at the former Radio Monte Río station. In Santo Domingo he was the announcer of the news advances on Radio Visión from the newspaper “El Sol”.

In New York City, he founded the cyber stations www.radioazua.com and www.radiobembanoticias, as well as 89.3 FM Digital New York on the air, where he produced the program “Rhythms and Songs that Were Hits” on Sundays.
