The paparazzi photos of Dominic West in the arms of Lily James caused a scandal.
Now the actor breaks the silence about the incident.
– It was an absurd situation, he says.
Dominic West54, and Lily James35, was photographed by paparazzi photographers in Rome in the fall of 2020 and the images hit Hollywood like a bomb.
“The Affair” star and “Mamma Mia” actor were seen kissing at an outdoor restaurant and holding each other on a scooter. The only problem was that Dominic West was married.
“Of course terrible”
Neither actor has commented on the scandal but now, four years later, West is breaking his silence in an interview with Sunday Times. Without going into what actually happened, he says it was a tough time for the whole family, which includes the wife Catherine Fitzgerald52, and four children.
– It was an absurd situation. It was deeply stressful for my wife and children but there were brighter moments.
He continues:
– I don’t want to speak for my wife, but of course it was terrible, especially for her. But we joke about it sometimes. Because every single time we went out together the newspapers wrote that we “presented a united front”.

Used it at work
The actor has also been able to benefit from the experience of being closely watched in the media in his work, such as when he played King Charles in “The Crown”.
– I had a great understanding of what it’s like to feel terrified that one’s name or a picture will appear in the newspaper. It is a terrible moment when something is to be revealed about you, he says.
Dominic West and Catherine Fitzgerald have the sons Senan15, and Francis14, and the daughters Dora18 and Christabel8. West also has the daughter Martha25, from a previous relationship with Polly Astor.
