Vindication for Giselle Peliko. Dominique Pelico was found guilty of all the charges brought against him regarding the dozens of rapes of his wife, Giselle, by him and other men on Thursday morning.
In particular, he was found guilty of the rape of Giselle Pelico, the attempted rape and the rape of the wife of a co-defendant, as well as the recording and possession of illegal sexual images involving his daughter Caroline and his former daughters-in-law.
According to Le Parisien, the court will first decide on the guilt or innocence of all the accused and then announce the sentences that will be imposed on them.
Judge Roger Arata and his four colleagues handed down prison sentences ranging from 4 to 20 years, the maximum sentence that can be imposed in France, while of the 51 defendants, only the victim’s husband admitted the charges against him.
So far the judges’ verdict is as follows:
Dominique Pelicot: Guilty of all charges, both of raping his wife and making and distributing photographs of her, and of making and distributing sexual images of their adult daughter Caroline and his sons’ wives
Jean-Pierre M: Guilty of gang-raping his wife.
Charly A.: Guilty of raping at a meeting and administering a chemical substance
Christian L.: Guilty of rape, not guilty of possession of child pornography
Cyrille D.: Guilty of rape
Florian R.: Guilty of rape
Simone M.: Guilty of rape and drug administration
Thierry P.: Guilty of rape and drug administration
Patrice N.: Guilty of rape and drug administration
Cyprien C.: Guilty of rape and drug administration
Since early morning, hundreds of people, women and men of all ages, have gathered outside the courts of Avignon to show their support for Giselle Pélicot, holding banners and shouting slogans against sexual violence and patriarchy.
