Dominic Martin Kalamasery Blast Case Evidence and Investigation Updates

Kochi: The investigation team said that Dominic Martin, the accused in the Kalamasery blast case, had carried out test blasts in the past. The investigation team also stated that Martin gave a statement that he learned how to make a bomb through the Internet.

An IED was chosen for the test explosion. Small explosions of low capacity were tested many times in different places to know their function. According to the police, the bomb was made to cause casualties and placed in the convention center of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Kalamaseri and the accused gave a statement.

The materials used to make the bomb were found in the accused’s flat in Athani. The remotes used in the blast were also recovered from the accused’s scooter, which was in custody at the Kodakara police station. Evidence was also taken from shops in Palarivattam where electronic devices were bought to make bombs.

DCP S Sasidharan reviewed the progress of the investigation on Sunday. Evidence will be taken at the pumps where the accused bought petrol on Monday.
