[비즈니스포스트] In July, the domestic producer price index turned upward for the first time in four months, influenced by the rise in agricultural product prices.
According to the Bank of Korea on the 24th, the producer price index in July 2023 was 120.14 (2015 = 100), up 0.3% from June. Compared to July last year, it fell 0.2%.

The producer price index showed an upward trend for three consecutive months until March this year, then showed a downward trend from April to June, but rebounded again in July.
The Bank of Korea explained that the Producer Price Index rose in July as prices of agricultural products rose due to torrential rains and heat waves.
By item, agricultural, forestry and fishery products rose 4.7% from June as aquatic products (-4.2%) fell, but agricultural products (10.6%) and livestock products (0.8%) rose.
As for industrial products, chemical products (-0.6%) fell, but coal and petroleum products (3.7%) rose 0.1% from June.
Electricity, gas, water and waste fell 0.5% compared to June due to residential electricity (-12.7%).
Services rose 0.3% compared to June, with transportation services (0.9%) and food and lodging services (0.5%) rising. Reporter Cho Seung-ri
