Domes in Chinese deserts create nuclear fear in other countries

Experts are worried that the great powers will once again throw themselves into a nuclear race.

In July, Hans Kristensen and his staff worked intensely. They examined satellite images from China. One day they found what they were looking for: a pattern of inflatable domes. They are approx. 50-70 meters large and reminiscent of tennis halls.

Although this was an academic triumph, the American researchers were not primarily happy. They had found what could lead the world into a new and different race for nuclear weapons.
