In the LTV program “Congratulations, Jubilee!” Jānis Domburs visited, who on his 50th birthday agreed to play an unusual role – not to ask questions, but to answer them himself.
Your show “What’s going on in Latvia?” In the studio Jānis is sitting in a guest chair this time, lsm.lv reports.
In an interview, J. Domburs says that he has participated in LTV concerts several times, for example, performing one of them in the popular “I did not come to this place”.
“I have been dragged into these Latvian Television Ligo concerts a couple of times. I did not refuse,” Jānis smiles and shrugs.
There was a time when Juris Kulakovs, the leader of the group “Pērkons”, invited me to participate in his concert, then, of course, I agreed with even greater joy, I felt very honored.
And how not? – The group “Pērkons” is not only one of Domburs’ favorite groups, but it seems to be similar to Jānis in its setting – the rebellious spirit of “Pērkons”, the quality of the choice of lyrics and the content of the message go far beyond the music field alone. The band’s musicians were awakeners of the Awakening, as was Jānis, who started working in the Awakening newspaper almost from the school bench, being, as he says, a greenbeak.
Dombur is not unfamiliar with sports either, due to his prolific stature he was a sought-after basketball player and trained at the VEF children’s and youth sports school.
The Latvian Television Archives holds a basketball match between the LTV team, which includes the presenters of the program: Domburs himself, Elvis Jansons, Dāvids Ernštreits, Andris Kivičs, Gundars Rēders, and and MEPs, including artists. Jānis claims that this game does not stand next to the Art Day tournaments in terms of the size of the event, which has more than once turned into quite big scandals, because, of course, it was not only a sports festival, it was also a meeting place for free-spirited people.
Continuing a series of quick questions and talking about femininity and masculinity, John describes masculinity with a sense of mayor and responsibility, and femininity: “What is often called the wisdom of the heart, perhaps first. “
Asked what kind of women do you like? – John just smiles: “The ones I like.” In turn, on the philosophical: what is the most expensive of the property? – John candidly states: “I hope intellectual property.”
The conversation with Dombur is as easy as a twist, because he is accustomed to live broadcasting, is a good speaker and, being close to the arts, is also a witty joker. In addition – very open to any question, indirectly confirming what he said in the answer to the question:
“Who can disarm you?” –
I’m not armed enough to disarm me. I don’t feel disarmed
