The All-Star forward of the Indiana Pacers, Domantas SabonisHe emerged from the NBA bubble in Orlando, Florida, with a significant injury to his left foot to seek treatment with a specialist, sources told ESPN.
Sabonis, who has been trying to play despite plantar fasciitis, hopes to rejoin the team in Orlando, but could miss the rest of the season, sources said.
The Pacers could lose their two best players, Sabonis and Victor Oladipo, before the official team participation begins next week. Oladipo may still choose not to participate in the remainder of the season, although he has been participating in practice and in the Pacers’ first win against Portland.
Sabonis, 24, was chosen for his first NBA All-Star game this season. He signed a four-year, $ 75 million contract extension that will begin with the start of next season.
Sabonis has averaged 18.5 points, 12.4 rebounds and five assists this season for Indiana.
