Domagoj Vida is now officially an AEK Athens player for the next two years. The Croatian player joins the Greek Super League after having played for Besiktas in the Turkish League for the last five seasons.
The signing of the Croatian player has been more difficult than expected, since a few days ago there was an assault on his home in Zagreb. The robbery resulted in losses of around the value of about 600,000 euros in different types of belongings.
The arrival of Vida to the Greek team helps him raise the level of his defense to the squad with a central defender. Also, a player characteristic that raises the value of his arrival is his facility to cover the position of right back if necessary, as he has shown on several occasions at Besiktas.
Last season, AEK Athens finished the campaign in third place in the league and lost in the semi-finals of the Greek Cup. This year, they intend to improve their performances in the different competitions of the last year.
