Dolph Lundgren Reveals Secret Battle with Cancer: “Doctors Gave Me Only 2-3 More Years to Live”

Dolph Lundgren, saga actor as Rocky, Creed, The indestructibles o Aquamanconfessed that during the last 8 years he has been in different treatments to fight cancer. At the time, the situation seemed so critical that the doctors even gave him only 2-3 more years to live.

The disclosure was made in the program In depth with Graham Bensinger. There the 65-year-old Swedish actor detailed the long battle he has waged in private to treat his illness. The first time he was diagnosed with liver cancer was in 2015.

“Then I had scans every six months, then you do it every year and I was fine, you know? For five years. But in 2020, I was back in Sweden and I had some kind of acid reflux… I didn’t know what it was. So I had an MRI and they found that there were a few more tumors around the area,” the actor said.

One of those tumors could not be removed, so systemic therapy was started. However, more tumors were discovered in 2021 when the actor was in London about to film the sequels of Aquaman y The indestructibles.

“[El doctor] he started saying things like ‘You should take a break and spend more time with your family’ and so on. Asked ‘How much time do you think I have left?’ I think he said 2 or 3 years, but I could tell from his voice that he thought it was less.”, he recalled.

Fortunately, Dolph Lundgren bHe sought the opinion of another doctor while he was still in London, and this doctor suggested that he treat his cancer like lung cancer, since it had mutated. And apparently this new approach changed things.

“If I had opted for the other treatment, I would have had about 3 or 4 months left. 2022 was basically watching these drugs do their thing. Finally those things had been reduced by 90%. I am now in the process of removing the remaining scar tissue on those tumors… The diagnosis is that, hopefully, when we remove them, there is no cancerous activity and that the medication that I am taking will eliminate everything else.Lundgren concluded.
