Dolj Public Health Directorate Reports Decrease in Respiratory Virus Cases and Flu Infections

According to a press release, issued on December 29, 2023, by the Public Health Directorate (DSP) Dolj, in the penultimate week of the previous year, 839 cases of IACRS (Acute Upper Respiratory Tract Infections), 248 cases of acute pneumopathy were registered and eight cases of influenza detected by rapid test with influenza virus type A.

The total number of cases of respiratory viruses and flu registered this week is 1,095, down from last week (1,576). “The population incidence rate of IACRS cases was 123.57 o/oooo, flu 1.17 o/oooo and of pneumopathies was 36.52 o/oooo. The share of hospitalizations in the total number of cases was 14.88%. With regard to the flu vaccination of the population from the risk groups, starting this year the flu vaccination is carried out according to Ord. MS 3120/2023, by prescribing, issuing and settling in the compensation regime of immunological drugs in the offices of family doctors. Until this date, the number of people vaccinated in Dolj county is 51,951. Since there is evidence of the circulation of influenza viruses in the population, we characterize the week by sporadic influenza activity”, it is specified in the said communication.
