Dolj County Health Report: Decrease in Respiratory Virus Cases, Flu Vaccination Update

According to the report presented by the Directorate of Public Health (DSP) Dolj, on February 22, in the previous week, 1,472 cases of IACRS (Acute Upper Respiratory Tract Infections), 533 cases of acute pneumopathy and 124 cases of influenza were registered (all with rapid tests – influenza type A and type B). Compared to the previous period, a decrease in their number can be observed.

The total number of cases of respiratory viruses and flu registered in the reference period is 2,129, down from last week (2,547), lower than the value recorded in the same period last year (2,220 cases). The population incidence rate of IACRS cases was 217 o/oooo, flu 18.28 o/oooo and of pneumopathies was 78.57 o/oooo. The share of hospitalizations in the total number of cases was 15.50%. With regard to the flu vaccination of the population from the risk groups, starting this year the flu vaccination is carried out according to Ord. MS 3120/2023, by prescribing, issuing and settling in the compensation regime of immunological drugs in the offices of family doctors. Until this date, the number of people vaccinated in Dolj County is 53,153. Since there is evidence of the circulation of influenza viruses in the population, the week is characterized by sporadic flu activity.
