Dog survived 200-foot fall

A young American couple accompanied by their four-year-old Goldendoodle were on their way to Oak Creek Canyon for a day outdoors. Once there, the dog Simba was so excited that he ran and wanted to jump on his owner who was on a rock. The problem is, he missed his shot.

“Simba started running from Ruth towards me at full speed and he jumped and couldn’t land on the rock,” says dog owner Wesley Wallace.

The dog therefore fell off the cliff, 200 feet lower (60 meters). The young man tried to find the dog later in the evening.

“When my husband called me to tell me he was alive I couldn’t believe it, it was truly a miracle,” Ruth tells CNN.

After a few surgeries in Phoenix, the four-year-old dog is quietly recovering from his injuries.

“He’ll never walk the same way on his right leg again, but it was a miracle he survived that 200-foot fall,” Wesley says.
