It’s always interesting to see how the speedrun community completes the various games they’ve studied over the years, as fast as they can, with categories even divided into formats with and without glitches. Especially when this event is then put together and organized in such a way for super positive purposes, namely in the name of donations to cancer research agencies. This is what AGDQ aka Awesome Games Done Quick always does every year. But for 2024, there is something special.
How special? As special as the fact that the speedrunner “gamer” is a dog named Peanut Butter instead of a human. Peanut Butter himself is given the responsibility to solve a super simple puzzle game called Gyromite which requires you to control a two-color platform. Of course Peanut Butter didn’t do it alone. He was assisted by the owner – JSR_ who consistently gave him instructions about what big buttons he should press, with an extra treat at the end every time he succeeded.
Peanut Butter – a dog successfully completed the speedrun event at AGDQ 2024.
Even though Peanut Butter ended up failing to break the previous world record, he at least succeeded in completing this game to the end. The fact that he managed to give his full attention to commands for almost half an hour was an achievement in itself. What do you think? Cutest speedrun action so far?
