In Germany, after the appearance of the dog’s house, the owner must register it with the tax office of the place of residence.
In 2020, Germany received 380 million euros from the taxation of dog owners. Such data were published the day before by the Federal Statistical Office of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Compared to 2019, tax collection on dog maintenance in Germany increased by 2.7%. In 2021, this trend continues: in the first quarter, the corresponding tax revenues to the treasury amounted to 159 million euros, which is 8.4% more than in the same period last year.
While the number of pets may indeed have increased due to the pandemic, the upward trend in tax collection was noted even earlier. According to statisticians, in 2010 the budget received only 258 million euros under this item.

If someone has several dogs, then taxes will have to be paid for each one separately, and for each subsequent one – more than for the previous one.
Cat owners are currently exempt from paying taxes in Germany. The country is home to about 35 million dogs, cats, hamsters and other domestic animals.
Earlier it was reported that they will become known income of all Ukrainians abroad… The Cabinet of Ministers is preparing to submit to parliament a bill on the so-called indirect methods of tax control.
