Witnesses had seen a dog owner hit his young dog against a fence several times in the city center. They wanted to dissuade him, according to the police.
The argument in front of a bar in Ludwigshafen’s Jaegerstrasse eventually turned into a serious argument involving four people.

The officers summoned intervened and had to tie up the opponents. In the end, the dog was handed over to the animal rescue team. It is unclear how badly the animal was injured. It was placed in an animal shelter after the incident.
