“Dog and Actor”, the work of British playwright Steven Berkoff, is a black comedy directed and produced by Carlos La Rosa, starring Sandro La Torre. The presentation will take place in the auditoriums of the Británico Cultural in Pueblo Libre, San Borja and Camacho, with free admission.
After its premiere in Lima in May, the work had successful presentations in Arequipa, Tacna and Piura. The show consists of two monologues that involve the viewer in the sorrows and illusions of its characters: a soccer fan with a pit bull dog as his only friend, and an unemployed actor who longs to star in Shakespeare’s “Hamlet.”

“Dog” tells anecdotes about the life of a soccer fan next to his pet, who is no stranger to problems due to the ferocity of the animal, whose peculiarity is being a “Rambo” fan. The master will reveal with sarcasm and black humor topics such as discrimination and violence, factors currently normalized in our society.

Who is Steven Berkoff?
Steven Berkoff, the author of “Dog and Actor,” is a London director and playwright with a career spanning more than four decades in theater, film, television and radio. He has written well-known works such as “Sit and shiver”, “Messiah: scenes from a crucifixion”, “The secret life of Ophelia”, “Decadence” and “Harry’s Christmas”.
Berkoff has also made adaptations of texts such as “The Trial” and “The Metamorphosis” by Kafka, “Agamemnon” by Aeschylus, and “The Fall of the House of Usher” by Edgar Allan Poe. In addition, he directed and acted in productions of works such as “Macbeth”, “Richard III” and “Hamlet” by William Shakespeare. In cinema, he participated in films such as “A Clockwork Orange” and “Barry Lyndon” by Stanley Kubrick, as well as “Rambo II” and “Octopussy-James Bond”.
