When it was first launched at the Indonesia International Motor Show or IIMS 2023 exhibition, Wuling Alvez immediately became the center of attention. It’s just erratic, with the features and appearance it brings, this low SUV type vehicle is only priced starting at IDR 209 million with status on the road Jakarta.
The price offered by Wuling for its new product is only slightly different from the highest variant LCGC cars. This fact also raises suspicions that LCGC consumers can slowly switch to this seven-passenger car.
Marketing Director of Wuling Motors Indonesia, Dian Asmahani said, Wuling Alvez has sold thousands of units since it was first launched. While the buyers are mostly young people aged 25 to 35 years.
“If we talk about SPK, that’s actually a niche, right. While the average age of the buyers is in the range of 25 to 35 years. So indeed most of them come from young people,” said Dian when met at Central Jakarta, Thursday night (30/3) .
Young consumers aged 20 to 30 years themselves are the main target for LCGC cars. Because, the vehicle is intended for those who have never bought a private car.
Furthermore, Dian admitted, many Wuling Alvez consumers also have the status as first buyers or novice buyers. That is why, Wuling Alvez is believed to have turned away consumers or potential LCGC buyers.
“There are many Alvez buyers who are first buyers, but the additional car buyers are also not bad,” said Dian.
It is known that Wuling Alvez comes in three different variants, namely SE, CE and EX. The difference from the exterior, only the EX type is equipped with LED lights, Daytime Running Light, fog lamp, roof rails, shark fin antenna, rear wiper and electric sunroof. The EX variant is also equipped with ADAS and WIND.
Meski demikian, seluruh varian Alvez dibekali Anti Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Dual SRS Airbags, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Seatbelt Reminder, ISOFIX, Immobilizer anti theft alarm.
Meanwhile, for its mechanical heart, Wuling Alvez uses a DOHC engine with a capacity of 1,485 cc inline-4 cylinder. The machine is assembled with a bore size of 74.7 mm and a stroke of 84.7 mm. This provision makes the car capable of producing 105 hp and 143 Nm of torque.
Wuling Alvez is offered at a price of IDR 209-295 million (OTR Jakarta). This nominal is slightly different from the highest variant LCGC such as the Daihatsu Ayla and the new Toyota Agya.
