Does VfB Stuttgart have their sights set on Kalajdzic’s successor? – Soccer

The Greek Evangelos Pavlidis is now linked to VfB Stuttgart online. He last scored 16 goals this season for AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands.

It seems only a matter of time before Sasa Kalajdzic announces his departure from VfB Stuttgart. This is indicated by the statements recently heard from his advisor Sascha Empacher to SWR Sport: The chance that Kalajdzic will stay is only five percent.

And this is indicated by the fact that Evangelos Pavlidis is already talking about a potential successor to Kalajdzic. At least that’s what you find out when you ask around in Greece. Because there they are now reporting on the possible change from Greek to Swabian.

A classic nine

And this personality is not that implausible either. Evangelos Pavlidis, nicknamed “Vangelis”, is a classic number nine. He is currently under contract as a centre-forward with AZ Alkmaar in the Dutch Eredivisie. Pavlidis does not have the standard of the two-meter man Kalajdzic. At 1.86 meters, he is fourteen centimeters shorter, he comes more through power, speed and goal instinct. Nevertheless, he would also be a buyer for left-back Borna Sosa’s crosses – provided that he is still in Stuttgart next season. Pavlidis has scored 16 goals for Alkmaar this season in the Dutch first division, including some with a header.

Should Kalajdzic actually leave VfB, then Pavlidis is a personality that VfB could be worth thinking about. After all, the 23-year-old is quite affordable with a transfer fee of six million euros (according to Transfermarkt.de). Especially since VfB could probably call up a transfer fee of up to 25 million euros if Kalajdzic were sold.

And if Pavlidis were a little strange in Stuttgart at the beginning: In defender Konstantinos Mavropanos he would have a compatriot in the team who could help him settle in.
