My furnished lease does not provide for the tenant’s insurance obligation. Should he take it out anyway? Adrien T.
Yes. Your tenant is required to insure against rental risks. Otherwise, you can terminate the lease as of right, within one month after an unsuccessful order; or, within the same period, after a formal notice has remained ineffective, take out insurance on behalf of the tenant, recoverable from the latter (1).
