Does the Forza Diesel government know that Stellantis invests everywhere except in Italy? And that investments in electricity and hydrogen go everywhere except here?
The Forza Diesel government… / France eats new investments
Not a day goes by without Stellantis announcing investments in new zero-emission vehicles. Too bad that nothing comes to us and that France (but not only) we are eating these new activities and these new jobs. A couple of weeks ago Carlos Tavares, 1 of the group to which they also belong Fiat, Alfa, Lancia etc. announced that will produce a total of ben in France 12 electric models. The new cars will come out of 5 factories by 2024 and will allow Stellantis to produce 1 million electric per year. In the same days, again at the Paris Motor Show, it was presented the new little one Jeep, the Avenger, a vehicle from which large numbers are expected. Too bad it is not produced a Melfiwhich has been the European home of the Jeep so far, but in Poland Country that obviously knows how to assert its sovereignty. It’s not over, because two days ago Stellantis announced a maxi-investment to produce hydrogen and electric vans. Where is it? to Jordan, in Upper France.
Salvini again in defense of cars and petrol and diesel
All these investments are the result of a lockout pressure from the French governmentwho is a partner of Stellantis and knows how to assert his role in a very decisive way. Not only towards Stellantis: the Renaultof which Paris is the first shareholder, was induced to launch a strategy that is called Re-inhalation. And do you know what one of the key points is? Bring back to France all possible productions, starting with new investments in electricity. At this point you may be wondering what our governments are doing. So far they are barking at the moon, shooting zero on a decision that the EU has already taken and confirmed: that of banning heat engines from 2035. “Petrol, diesel and methane cars outlawed in Europe since 2035? A mistake, a gift to China: factories and shops closed in Italy and Europe, workers and artisans without work and salary, and lifelong dependence on China“. The deputy premier wrote it in a tweet Matteo Salviniadding that “the League in Europe will do everything to stop this madness“.
If you think back to Marchionne …
In our humble opinion, industrial policy should be played on two fronts. That is: on the one hand try to protect current productionswith related jobs, as long as possible. On the other, to ride the new that advances, for create new employment. While on the first front we are all in all, on the second we seem completely absent. You can criticize the EU as much as you want, but that new investments go to almost everyone in the direction of the electric it is a fact. All trying to grab new factories of EVs, batteries and other components. Here no one seems to knock on Stellantis’s door, which is pulled by the jacket from a thousand sides and is probably surprised not to hear anyone show up from Rome. Again electric models made in Italy no one talks about it anymore, apart from a niche car like the Maserati Folgore. And the much criticized is to be regretted Sergio Marchionnewho, to save the Italian factories, brought the Jeeps and the Panda to Pomigliano d’Arco to Melfi.
