Chairman Bruce Buck was the last member to leave the club and decided to step down at the end of June after 19 years at the club. After his departure, Boehly made himself chairman, which didn’t sit well with Saunders.

Speaking to talkSPORT, the former Liverpool striker slammed the American for taking it all too lightly. He said (via Daily Star):
“I might go in a little earlier. I mean [Boehly] bought the club for £3bn, why sit in the hot seat? Does he play Football Manager?
“Some of the owners have Football Manager at home. You sit in the lounge with your kids and the best thing about Football Manager is that you buy the players, choose the team and sell the players and take over the tactics.
“And then you get this idea: ‘Why don’t we do it right and buy a real football club?’ And then they try to play Football Manager with a real football club.”
Chelsea, who are expected to lose Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger as free agents at the end of the month, have yet to bring in reinforcements.
The retirees also reportedly (via Fabrizio Romano) has signed a deal with Inter Milan to loan their record signing Romelu Lukaku.
