Does Cristiano Ronaldo want to be kicked out at Manchester United?

Looking for Cristiano Ronaldo get kicked out Man Utd? That they terminate his contract even if he gets nothing? So, judging by the Portuguese’s behavior, it seems that he already has 19 days without showing up at the English club’s training sessions. Force an exit in his final year of contract and without the United make use of its extension clause for a further year until June 30, 2024.

Because his obviously intentional attitude can be branded by the player as abusive towards him. Man Utd. and the regulations FIFA allows the club to expel the player in such cases.

That is, his contract termination, but without compensation for the remaining contract year. This is reflected in Article 14(2) of the same law, which literally states: “Any abusive conduct by a party aimed at compelling its other party to terminate a contract or to change its terms constitutes a just cause for the termination by the opposite party. (player or club)».

Because in this case there is no just cause, as stated in the first paragraph of the same article, which also allows both parties to terminate the contract without compensation. Then behind this attitude of Cristiano Ronaldo could pull the rope and try to be expelled from the club where he started his career under the justification of his attitude.

The player will be fined for six months if he decides to break the contract

Because Cristiano Ronaldo cannot unilaterally terminate his remaining contract. As we have explained on occasion, Article 17 of the Statute and Transfer of Players allows a player or the club to break the contract without just cause. “In any case, the party terminating the contract is obliged to pay compensation” and that this “is calculated taking into account national legislation, the characteristics of the sport and other objective criteria. These criteria must include, in particular, the remuneration and other services owed to the player from the current or new contract, the remaining contract term of up to five years, the fees and expenses paid by the previous club (amortized over the entire contract term) and the question of whether the contract termination takes place within a protected period». In the case of the Portuguese, it’s €23m net per season that he’s being paid, which should initially compensate the player to the club if he makes that decision.

But it turns out that the Portuguese is in the so-called protected period. This covers the first three years of the contract if the footballer signed it under the age of 28, or just two years if he signed it aged 28 or older, according to the regulations. And that is the case of Cristiano Ronaldo, who is just 37 years old and has just passed the first of two years of the statute of limitations. And in this case, FIFA imposes very harsh sanctions on the player who acts under this deadline, which Cristiano faces if he unilaterally terminates his contract and which consists of “a four-month restriction on his eligibility to play all official matches”. In cases of aggravating circumstances, the limitation is six months. These sporting sanctions come into effect immediately after notification of the decision to the player. These sporting sanctions are suspended in the period between the last official match of the season and the first official match of the following season, including in both cases national cups and international club championships. However, such a suspension of sports sanctions does not apply if the player is a full member of the representative team of the association authorized to represent and the association concerned in the period between the last and first game of the season.

The entire group stage of the Champions League would be lost

Should Cristiano then unilaterally terminate his contract with Manchester United, he could not play for his future club until November. This means you miss the entire group stage of the Champions League or any other competition organized by UEFA; in case he signs for a team playing in Europe. And regardless of the timing of their conclusion, the World Cup in Qatar starting on November 21st would always be guaranteed.
