JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Program Covid-19 vaccination national events held by the government will continue during the month of Ramadan.
This means that Muslims who are fasting and registered as participants will take part in the vaccination.
The fatwa of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) has also stated that Covid-19 vaccination does not invalidate fasting because the vaccine is not injected through certain holes in humans.
After it is declared not to cancel the prayer service, the next question is whether vaccination will have a side effect on people who are fasting?

Answering the question, Spokesperson Covid-19 Vaccination Ministry of Health Nadia Tarmizi sites explained, someone who is fasting and gets an injection of the Covid-19 vaccine will not experience bad side effects and will not affect his body condition.
“If there are no side effects. It’s okay (being vaccinated against Covid-19 during fasting),” said Nadia to Kompas.com, Friday (26/3/2021).
Nadia said, his party does not have any specific recommendations for people who will undergo Covid-19 vaccination while fasting.
However, the standard recommendations for rest and eating and drinking enough before vaccination should be taken.
If the injection of the vaccine will be carried out during the day, at dawn it is recommended to consume enough food.
Likewise, if the injection is carried out at night, when breaking the fast it is expected to do the same.

“Just the standard. Usually when you are fasting there is no change in activity,” he said.
Furthermore, Nadia also made sure that the Covid-19 vaccination did not break the fast if it was done during the day, according to the MUI fatwa.
However, people can also choose so that the Covid-19 vaccination can be given at night.
