Finally, fellow studio guest Walter Zinzen wondered whether MPs owe it to their voters to take their own stand and not blindly follow the party’s point of view. “It is not possible: if you are convinced of something, you still vote according to your conviction!”, the former VRT journalist was excited.
This was followed by a silence of three seconds on television, followed by a nod from Coens to presenter Ivan De Vadder. “I think we can stretch the debate, but we know what’s going on,” Coens concluded after the tangible silence in the studio.
