Does Bixby still exist? Yea! Took a big update

Do you know Bixby? It is Samsung’s virtual assistant, truth be told, it has never been very popular among users. After all, since its introduction with the Galaxy S8, this piece of software has always been fiercely criticized by the industry and of course by users.

However, this does not mean that Samsung has thrown the towel to the ground. By the way, Bixby just got a big update.

Does Bixby still exist? Yea! Took a big update

So the ‘new’ Bixby brings some improvements to preferences and ‘Quick Commands’, which basically means we have an update aimed at how the virtual assistant checks your queries and how it learns by analyzing each one. That is, with the new update, Bixby will be able to understand you better. And so, popularize the feed with the most interesting content for you.

By the way, we’ll even have app suggestions in the feed, if you have the setting active on your Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

In addition to these very interesting improvements, Bixby will also be less intrusive. In other words, while in the past the assistant would occupy the entire screen of your smartphone, with the new update, the panel will only occupy half. We still have the microphone, the keyboard, and the home button. We also continue to have related suggestions. But now we don’t have the full screen with the interface, which was actually underused/unused space.

It’s no longer necessary to train your voice with Bixby!

Normally, if you wanted to use the command “Hi Bixby”, the assistant would recognize the command, but also your voice, and for that you had to configure your voice in the program. Which forced the user to repeat the sentence 5x.

Well, although it’s not the end of the world, the truth is that the vast majority of users ignored Bixby due to this ‘limitation’, and as such, from now on, you can only do it skip.

Is this enough for Bixby to be a success? Probably not. But it’s good to know that Samsung is on the lookout, and that they’re doing their best to improve the experience.
