A dog trader in Deurne has tried to hide 118 of his dogs because he expected a check. He did this in the night from Sunday to Monday in barns on an abandoned yard near his house. The trader received two visits from the National Animal Protection Inspectorate (LID) in recent months.
The police discovered the animals the next morning after a report and called in the inspection service. The animals have all been taken.
“All costs for transport, replacement accommodation and care are recovered from the owner by the government,” writes the LID. He will also receive a report.
Previously brought dogs
In April, 25 neglected dogs were taken to the dog breeder in Deurne. A month earlier, 21 dogs were taken. The dogs were housed in a secret shelter, reports a spokesman for the LID.
