Dave Roberts, Dodgers manager, highlighted the work of his catcher Will Smith and said that his players fully trust him
NEW YORK — Los Angeles Dodgers have excelled pitching in the National League Championship Series and throughout the postseason, including four shutouts in the five games leading up to Game 4 against the New York Mets.

And the receiver has had a lot to do with it. Will Smith for the way he has guided the Dodgers’ pitchers, starters and relievers, the manager said Dave Roberts.
“Will has been working like no one else with all of our pitchers,” Roberts said before Thursday’s game. “He has prepared himself and the guys trust him.”
Will Smith said that nothing has changed from the regular season, that he just focuses on each game independently and on the type of pitcher he is going to work with, to make him feel comfortable and confident.

“We’ve had a lot of conversations with the pitchers,” Smith explained. “We know how to attack them (the Mets). It’s just about going out there and executing according to the plan.”
Manager Roberts also credited the rest days and pitching coach Mark Pryor for the success his pitchers have had in these playoffs.
