The team around superstar Ohtani prevails against the Mets.
The Los Angeles Dodgers with superstar Shohei Ohtani followed the New York Yankees into the World Series of Major League Baseball. The team from California beat the New York Mets 10-5 on Monday night and won the best-of-seven series 4-2. The Yankees defeated the Cleveland Guardians 4-1.

“This is the place I’ve dreamed of all my life,” said the Japanese Ohtani about the final series for the championship and added: “The next goal is to hopefully be able to win the title.”
The match winner for the Dodgers was Tommy Edman with four runs. For Los Angeles, it is the fourth final appearance in the past eight years, the last of a total of seven title wins came in 2020. The Yankees are record champions with 27 successes, most recently in 2009.
The first duel for the World Series takes place on Friday in Los Angeles. The Dodgers and the Yankees are fighting for the title for the twelfth time and for the first time since 1981, when the Dodgers prevailed 4-2.
