Dodgers beat Diamondbacks

Walker Buehler had another masterful afternoon and carried a no-hitter into the eighth inning in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 9-3 victory over the struggling Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday.

The 26-year-old right-hander easily dominated the Diamondbacks hitters. He walked two, hit a batter and struck out 11, his best of the season. He walked away with one out in the eighth after allowing singles by David Peralta and Nick Ahmed.

Buehler received a standing ovation from the sizable Dodgers fans at Chase Field in Phoenix.

Arizona has lost 16 in a row, a franchise record, and 39 of its 44 games. The Diamondbacks have the worst record in the majors at 20-52, and on Thursday they broke a major league record with their 23rd straight road loss.

Matt Peacock (2-5) took the loss after allowing three runs in five innings. Kevin Ginkel and Jake Faria suffered as relievers as the Dodgers opened a 9-0 lead.

For the Diamondbacks, Ketel Marte 3-1 with two RBIs. Venezuelan Eduardo Escobar 4-0; David Peralta 3-1 with a run scored.
