LOS ANGELES (AP) – The Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a postseason berth with home runs by Max Muncy, Trea Turner and Will Smith to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-4, their fifth straight win.
His eighth straight home win, combined with losses to Cincinnati and San Diego, secured his ninth playoff appearance in pursuit of his second straight World Series title.
Tony Gonsolin (3-1) allowed two hits in five scoreless innings, struck out six and walked two. Luke Weaver (3-5) took the loss.
For the Diamondbacks, Ketel Marte 4-3 with one run scored and three RBIs. Venezuelan David Peralta 4-1 with an RBI. Puerto Rican Henry Ramos 3-1 with a run scored.
For the Dodgers, Albert Pujols 1-1.
