Dodge Unveils World’s First Electric Muscle Car: 2024 Charger Lineup

In a groundbreaking move, Dodge has announced the release of its highly anticipated lineup of new 2024 Dodge Charger sports cars, which includes the world’s first and only electric muscle car. This exciting development marks a significant milestone in the automotive industry as Dodge combines the power and performance of a muscle car with the environmental benefits of electric technology.

The star of the show is the electric 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack, boasting an impressive 670 horsepower and an astonishing 0-60 mph acceleration time of just 3.3 seconds. With these remarkable specs, the Charger retains its title as the world’s quickest and most powerful muscle car. Additionally, it sets a new record for the quickest quarter-mile elapsed time among muscle cars, clocking in at 11.5 seconds. The electric Charger also offers an estimated range of 260 miles, ensuring that drivers can enjoy their high-performance vehicle without worrying about frequent recharging.

Not stopping there, Dodge has also introduced another all-electric model to the Charger lineup: the Charger Daytona R/T. This model delivers 496 horsepower and offers an estimated range of 317 miles, providing a compelling option for those seeking a balance between power and range.

One of the most impressive features of the new Charger lineup is its charging capacity. When using a 350-kW fast charger, the Daytona Scat Pack can gain an estimated 8.1 miles per minute, while the Daytona R/T achieves an impressive 9.9 miles per minute. This ensures that drivers can quickly recharge their vehicles and get back on the road, minimizing downtime.

Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand CEO, expressed his excitement about the electrified Charger models, stating, “The electrified 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack delivers Charger Hellcat Redeye levels of performance and announces its presence through the world’s first Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust.” This innovative exhaust system not only enhances the car’s performance but also adds a unique and powerful sound that muscle car enthusiasts will appreciate.

In terms of technology and connectivity, both the Scat Pack and R/T versions of the Dodge Charger come equipped with advanced infotainment systems. Featuring a 12.3-inch touchscreen, drivers can easily access media options such as SiriusXM, TomTom navigation, and even Amazon Alexa. For added convenience, an optional augmented head-up display is available, projecting a large field of view with improved virtual image distance.

Looking ahead, Dodge has plans to produce two-door coupe versions of the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack and Daytona R/T starting in mid-2024. This expansion of the Charger lineup aims to cater to a wider range of customers and further solidify Dodge’s position as a leader in the muscle car segment. Production of four-door versions of these models is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2025.

All-new Dodge Chargers will be manufactured at the Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario, Canada. This production location aligns with Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan, which focuses on electrified and more efficient propulsion systems. By cutting its global carbon footprint by 50% by 2030, Stellantis aims to lead the transportation industry in achieving net carbon zero by 2038.

With the introduction of the world’s first electric muscle car, Dodge has proven that high-performance vehicles can coexist with sustainable technology. The 2024 Charger lineup showcases the brand’s commitment to innovation, pushing boundaries, and providing thrilling driving experiences while embracing a greener future. As the automotive industry continues to evolve, Dodge remains at the forefront, delivering groundbreaking vehicles that captivate enthusiasts worldwide.
