Dodge Challenger Production Ends with Glorious Pitch Black SRT Demon 170

The Dodge Challenger has been known since 1970, and the current generation of the model was introduced in 2008. The sports model became famous for its powerful, charged versions with V8 Hemi engines.

Dodge has discontinued production of the famous Challenger model. The last copy of the iconic sports car rolled off the production line at a plant in Brampton, Canada on December 22. About it reports Carscoops website.

The latest was the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 – the most powerful and fastest version in the history of the model. The coupe is designed specifically for drag racing and is equipped with a 1039-horsepower supercharged V8 Hemi. It can accelerate to 100 km/h in 1.66 seconds, cover ¼ mile (402 m) in 8.9 seconds and reach 346 km/h.

Notably, the final Dodge Challenger was sold at auction before it was even assembled. They paid $700,000 for this black coupe.

The current Dodge Challenger has been in production for 15 years. And although the model continued to be in demand (about 60 thousand sports cars were sold in 2022), its design was already outdated. There will be no new generation Challenger – the model’s successor will be the Dodge Charger electric car.
