For the first time in the history of Chilean open television, the documentary “The Battle of Chile” by director Patricio Guzmán will be shown.

The famous trilogy will be broadcast on La Red on different days: on Friday 10 it will start with “The insurrection of the bourgeoisie”, it will continue on Saturday 11 “The coup d’etat” and it will culminate on Sunday 12 “The Popular Power”. The three films will be broadcast at 10:00 pm.

The director of the multi-award-winning film said that the documentary “shows for the first time a peaceful revolution in Latin America filmed by an independent team step by step. We began filming in Santiago on October 15, 1972 and ended on September 11, 1973. It is a documentary film made at the same time as the events occurred ”.

This Thursday, the director of The Battle of Chile, Patricio Guzmán, will be on the program True Lies talking about the documentary in the context of a new anniversary of the coup against Salvador Allende.

Among the various awards that the documentary has obtained is the Grand Prize of the International Festival of Havana and the Grand Prize of the International Festival of Brussels. In addition, the American magazine Cineaste defined the film as “one of the ten best political films in the world.”
