The docu-BD “The great history of FC Nantes” brought together no less than 21 artists. A talented team for a first-rate collective adventure.
It’s like a list announced by a coach. Around the docu-BD project “The great history of FC Nantes”, Olivier Petit brought together around twenty designers and colorists. As in the squad of a football club, there are a few well-known names, proven professionals, a few promising prospects and neophytes thrown into the deep end.
Thomas Balard comes from the world of animation and workshops where he teaches comics. He also works by responding to orders from companies and institutions and collaborating on numerous collective projects including those of Petit-à-Petit editions. In “The great history of FC Nantes”, he drew the episode on the first FCN titles (1965 and 1966).
Bruno Bazile was born in Saint-Nazaire. We owe him the hilarious parody series “The adventures of Sarkozix” (Delcourt) but also numerous comic strips where he expresses his love of cars: “Paris Garage“(Glénat),”The Birth of the 4 CV Renault“(Full throttle),”M’sieur Maurice and the yellow dauphine” (Glénat), etc. In our docu-comics on FC Nantes, he drew the episode on the first years of José Arribas in Nantes.
Jocelyn Bodin is a native of Nantes. Coming from the Livet high school and the Pivaut school (a major Nantes school of illustrators), he drew the episode devoted to the construction of the FC Nantes training center. This is his first comic book publication.
Anthony Cocain comes from the world of advertising graphics. He then worked in illustration for children’s books (notably “An unexpected football player!” by Florence Brillet published by Adabam). For “The great history of FC Nantes”, he draws the 1983 title episode.
Frédéric Coicaulta former surveyor and pure Nantes resident, has published numerous comics in albums, notably the comics adaptation of films such as “Welcome to the ch’tis” or comics with the Chevaliers du Fiel, the Bodin’s, the Grosses Têtes or Stéphane Plaza. For “The great history of FC Nantes”, he draws the 2001 title episode.

Jack Domon is an illustrator from the world of rock imagery (album covers, posters, t-shirts, etc.), he himself plays the sax in a ska group. He then collaborated with Fluide Glacial and devoted himself to comics, particularly themed comics, including “Face footage” (Hugo & Cie) and “Funny fans” (Jungle). In our comic book on FC Nantes, he draws the European epic of the Canaries in 1980 and the inauguration of the Beaujoire stadium in 1984.
Matthew Gaudin comes from the Pivaut school. In addition to illustration, he also practices theater and comedy. Passionate about football, this son of Jean-Charles Gaudin, filmmaker and comic book writer, often goes to La Beaujoire to encourage the young and green. He also drew, for “The great history of FC Nantes“, the episode about the supporters. This is his first comic strip.
Maxime Germain is a Norman designer and colorist who participated in several docu-comics from Petit-à-Petit editions, notably “Incredible stories from the Rugby World Cup” and the work on the MSB, Le Mans Sarthe Basket. He produced the cover of “The great history of FC Nantes” and was responsible for the color on the episode of Antoine Kombouaré and the Coupe de France 2022.
Thierry Jollet participated in numerous docu-comics from Petit-à-Petit, including the “Incredible stories from the 24 hours of Le Mans“, the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Tour de France and cinema, as well as the stories of Blois and Angers. He also drew two volumes of the series “Agatha Christie” for Emmanuel Proust editions. In “The great history of FC Nantes”, he drew the episode on the creation of the club.
Laurine Lestrat is an illustrator of comics and children’s books. In “The great history of FC Nantes”, she was responsible for the color of three episodes: the creation of the club, the first titles and the women’s.
Yves Magne is an eclectic autodidact who has worked in printing, comics, press cartoons and then graphics and computer graphics. He was notably the colorist for Bruno Bazile’s albums. For “The great history of FC Nantes”, he provided the drawing and color for the episode dedicated to the Jean Vincent years.
Jean-Marie Michauda native of Corsica, passionate about martial arts and drawing, has worked on numerous fiction and history comics. He also illustrates documentaries and works aimed at young people. With his wife Sophie, who provided the color, he is the author of two stories in the docu-comics on FC Nantes, those devoted to Michael Landreau and Emiliano Sala.
Robin Millet specializes in the colorization of works published by Glénat and Petit-à-Petit. In “The great history of FC Nantes”, he colored the episodes of the Nantaise game and the African history of Jean Vincent.
My Rachid comes from the cartoon. He then worked at Disney at Journal de Mickey (he drew Picsou) then at Pif Gadget where he was entrusted with Pif the Dog, then Hercules and Placid and Muzo. He also works with Daniel Bardet on historical works and at Bamboo for comedy series. In “The great history of FC Nantes”, he drew the episode dedicated to Antoine Kombouaré and the 2022 Coupe de France.
Joël Odone is a colorist who has worked on numerous albums. In our Docu-BD on FC Nantes, he took care of the episodes on Henri Michel, on training and on the 2001 title.
Marty Planchais is an author living in Nantes. He signed “The Little Executioner of Montfleury” (editions Sarbacane) which received the Taille-Crayon prize in 2016 during the Crayonantes festival. In “The great history of FC Nantes”, he draws the episode on the FC Nantes women’s team.
Laurent Seigneureta native of Chartres, started comics in 2007 by drawing three volumes of the adaptation of the novel “The Temple Treasure” by Eliette Abecassis (Glénat). He then signs “The Marie Besnard affair” in the series of major criminal cases published by De Borée. We also owe him the drawing of “Deghtone” published by Bamboo and “The escapees” published by Soleil. In our docu-comics on FC Nantes, he draws the story of Henri Michel.
Baptiste Tanguy is from the Pivaut school in Nantes and one of the illustrators of Rouquemoute editions. He notably signed the autobiographical “An intern at Hellfest”. In the docu-BD on FC Nantes, he signs the title episode of 1995.
Antoine Tasseltrained at the Pivaut school in Nantes, has twice won first prize in the Young Talents competition at the Perros-Guirec comics festival (2022 and 2024). He lent his support to the docu-comics on FC Nantes by drawing the episode dedicated to the comeback of FC Nantes in 2013. This is his first comic strip.
Wyllowor Yohann Puaud when he became a screenwriter, is an artist from Nantes from the Pivaut school. He is the author of several comic strips including the series “Jules Verne” at Petit-à-Petit. In our docu-comics on FC Nantes, he draws the only imaginary story in the album, inspired by an African story told by Jean Vincent.

Franck Dugast is a graphic designer who works for advertising and comics. It was he who created the model for the docu-BD on FC Nantes.
Olivier Petit is the founder of the Petit-à-Petit publishing house which publishes comic books and children’s literature. He is also a screenwriter on numerous projects that he has developed, including “The great history of FC Nantes”.
The Yellow House is a collective of journalists, enthusiasts and supporters of FC Nantes who contributed to the iconographic research and the writing of texts in the documentary pages of “The great history of FC Nantes”.
