Doctors told whether it is worth fearing complications after vaccinating children. Reedus

After many dangerous diseases (polio, measles, smallpox) have virtually disappeared due to vaccination, many parents who are not familiar with the “joys” of their outbreaks become anti-vaccinators and do not want to vaccinate their children. They believe that vaccines are a greater evil than the diseases themselves. Because of this, forgotten infections began to infect more and more people. So, in 2018, about 140 thousand people died from measles. Most of them are unvaccinated children under five years of age.

To dispel parental fears, doctors from Australia’s National Center for Immunization Research and Surveillance conducted new study, the results of which showed that complications after vaccinating children, such as fever and febrile seizures provoked by it, do not affect their mental and mental development.

Febrile cramps – seizures with trembling in the extremities caused by fever, which in rare cases occur after vaccination in young children (usually up to three years). They look scary and, of course, cannot but disturb parents.

The study involved 62 children who had febrile seizures within two weeks after vaccination, 70 children who had febrile seizures for another reason (for example, due to SARS), and a control group of 90 children without seizures in the anamnesis. All were younger than two years old at the time of the first examination.

Experts observed the health of participants for 1-2 years after seizures, comparing their performance with the control group. The study found no differences in development, thinking, or behavior between children who had febrile seizures after vaccination and those who did not experience seizures.

At a time when there is a global outbreak of measles and new diseases appear, our findings are especially important for reassuring parents and doctors of the safety of vaccines, – summed up Lucy Deng, one of the authors of the work.

Earlier, Reedus wrote that “Vector” announced the effectiveness of three domestic vaccines from COVID.
