Eight months ago, an 83-year-old woman was left in her pajamas and slippers by the Tractorul hospital and was later found dead from the cold in a field on the outskirts of Brașov.
Following the investigation of the Braşov Public Health Directorate, it emerged that the doctor on call, Eva Ionel, was absent that evening, on illegal shift with another doctor from Sf Gheorghe, Veronica Grigore.
The doctor of the Tractorul hospital in Brașov had his employment contract terminated following the investigation and the doctor in charge of the guards received a written summons.
Now, the two doctors involved have been charged by the prosecutors of the Braşov Court of Appeal.
In the case of Dr. Eva Ionel, the criminal investigation is initiated under the profile of the commission of the crimes of abuse in service and participation in the falsification of official documents, and in the case of Dr. Veronica Grigore of the hospital of Sf Gheorghe, in the ‘aspect of the commission of the offenses of concurrence in abuse in service and falsification in official documents.
